இந்தியாவில் கர்நாடக மானிலத்தில் புராண வரலாற்று சிறப்பு மிக்க பல ஆலயங்கள் உள்ளன. அவற்றில் ஒன்று கர்னாடகாவின்  தென் பகுதியில் கடீல் எனும் ஊரில் உள்ள தேவி துர்கா பரமேஸ்வரி ஆலயம் ஆகும். கர்னாடகாவின் உடுப்பி அல்லது மங்களூரில் இருந்து நேரடியாக இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு செல்ல முடியும். அந்த ஆலயத்தில் ஒவ்வொரு நாளும் இருபதுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பூஜைகளும் யாகங்களும் பக்தர்களின் வேண்டுகோளுக்கு ஏற்ப நடைபெறுகின்றது.  தினமும் விடியற்காலை நான்கு மணிக்கு தேவியின் அலங்காரத்துக்காக ஆலயம் திறக்கப் பட்ட பின் , காலை ஆறு மணிக்கு மேல் பக்தர்களுக்காக ஆலயம் திறந்து விடப்படுகின்றது.  ஆலயம் இரவு பத்து மணிக்கு மூடப்பட்டு விடும். தேவி துர்கா பரமேஸ்வரியின்   வரலாற்று கதை  முன்னொரு காலத்தில் அருணாசுரன் எனும் ஒரு அசுரன் இருந்தான். அவன் தெய்வம் பிரம்மாவிடம் இருந்து ஒரு அரிய வரத்தைப் பெற்று இருந்தான். அந்த வரத்தின்படி அவனுக்கு  தெய்வம் பிரும்மாவினாலேயே உபதேசிக்கப்பட்ட காயத்ரி மந்திரத்தை  மனத்திலோ அல்லது வாயினாலோ அவன் ஜெபித்தபடி இருக்கும்வரை அவனுக்கு மரணம் வராது. அவனை மனி...

Karnataka state in India has many historical temples. One such temple has been dedicated to the Goddess Durga Parameswari temple in a place called Kateel in the southern part of Karnataka. One can reach this temple from Mangalore or Udipi, two well known cities in the same region. The uniqueness of the temple is that everyday more than twenty  pujas or Homas are performed on behalf of the devotees. The temple opens early at 04.00 hrs in the morning. After the deity is dressed up –called Alankar- the public are allowed to worship the deity from 06.00 hrs. The temple closes at 22.00 hrs in the night.
