புதுச்சேரியில் உள்ள தென்னம்பாக்கம் கிராமத்தில் அழகு முத்து ஐயனார் ஆலயம் உள்ளது. புதுச்சேரியில் இருந்து ஏம்பலம் வழியாகவும், வில்லியனூர் வழியாகவும் இந்த ஆலயத்துக்கு செல்லலாம். இந்த ஆலயத்துக்குள் நுழைந்தாலே மண் மற்றும் சிமெண்ட் கலவையினால் செய்யப்பட்ட குழந்தை, கார், வீடு, கை, கால், மனித உருவம் போன்ற சிலைகளும், பொம்மைகளையும் காணலாம். அவற்றை முதலில் வணங்கிய பிறகே மூல சன்னதிக்கு சென்று வணங்க வேண்டும் என்பது ஐதீகம் ஆகும். இந்த ஆலயத்தின் பின்புறத்தில் கிணற்றின் மீது கட்டப்பட்ட ஸ்ரீ  அழகர் சித்தர் சமாதி ஆலயம் உள்ளது. அந்த சித்தர் சுமார் 400 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னால்  அந்த கிராமத்துக்கு வந்ததாக அங்குள்ளவர்கள் கூறுகிறார்கள். இன்னும் சிலரோ அவர் காலம் கி.பி 18 00 முதல் கி. பி. 1840 வரை ஆகும் என்றும் கூறுகிறார்கள். அந்த சித்தர் அங்கிருந்தபோது   தமது பக்தர்களின் பல்வேறு நோய்களை தமது மந்திர சக்தியினால் குணமாக்கி இருக்கிறார். அங்குள்ள ஆலயத்தில் உள்ள அவரது சிலையில் காணப்படும் வாளில் பக்தர்கள் தமது வேண்டுகோட்களை எழுதி வைத்த காகிதத்தைக் கட்டி வைத்து தமது துன்பங்...

Muthu Aiyanar temple is in Thenambakkam, Pondicherry. Traveling from Pondicherry one can reach this temple via V illianoor or Y aembalam two small helmets on way. The temple complex has full of dolls and idols in various shapes and sizes which are worshipped   before reaching the main sanctum to offer worship to Lord Aiyanar and the Shri Azhag ar Siddhar in his Samadhi temple. Behind Muthu Aiyanar temple i s the Samadhi sthal of  great Siddha Shri Azhagar Siddhar. The Samadhi has been raised over a well there. Though p eople say that the Siddha had come to this village before 400 years or so and stayed there till death , some others feel that he lived during 1800 AD to 1840 AD. 2011 ஆம் வருடம் நான் பெங்களூரில் வசந்தபுராவில் இருந்த ஒரு  அதிசயமான ஆலயத்துக்கு சென்று இருந்தேன். அதன் பெயர் பகவான் வசந்தபுரா வல்லபாராய ஆலயம் என்பதாகும். ஆலயம்  1000 வருடத்துக்கு முற்பட்டது , சோழ மன்னர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட ஆலயம் என்கின்றார்கள். அது கட்டப்பட்டபோது அதன் பெயர் ' பூனில வசந்த நாயகி சமேத வசந்த வல்லபாராய ஸ்வாமி ஆலயம்' என்பதாகும். அந்த ஆலயத்தின் எதிரில் பகவான் ஹனுமாருக்கு  ஒரு ஆலயம் உள்ளது. அந்த ஆலயங்கள் இரண்டுக்கும் இடையில் அன்னை மாரியம்மன் எனும் காத்யாயினி தேவி என்ற கிராம தேவதையின் ஆலயமும் உள்ளது. அதை போலவே  பகவான் சிவபெருமானுக்கும் ஒரு ஆலயம் பகவான் வல்லபாராய ஸ்வாமி ஆலயத்தின் பக்கத்திலேயே கட்டப்பட்டு உள்ளது.  பகவான் சிவபெருமானின் ஆலயம் குறித்த இரண்டு கதைகள் உள்ளன. ஒரு காலத்தில் மராட்டிய மானியத்தை  ஆண்டு வந்த பேரரசன் சத்ரபதி சிவாஜி அடிக்கடி தென்னாட்டுக்கு வந்து அங்குள்ள ஆலயங்களுக்கு செல்வாராம். அவர் சென்னையில் உள்ள காளிகாம்பாள்  ஆலயத்துக்கு சென்றுவிட்டு பெங்களூரில் இந்த ஆலயம் உள்ள இடத்தில் வந்து தங்கி இருந்தாராம். அப்போது இது வனப் ...

In the year 2011, I happened to visit a unique temple in Vasanthapura (Behind Kanakapura Road) in Bangalore. The name of the temple is Lord Vasanthapura Vallabaraya which is 1000 years old and constructed during the Chola period. The original name of the temple was ‘Poonila Vasantha Nayagi Sametha Vasantha Vallabaraya Swami temple’. There is a small Hanuman temple opposite to this temple which has also been reportedly constructed during the same period when this temple was established. In between these two temples another temple for Goddess Mariamman in the name of Kathayani devi (a village deity) also exist. By the side of this Vallabaraya Swami temple another temple for Lord Shiva in the name of Lord Bhavani Shankar has also been constructed. மாயவரம் மற்றும் கும்பகோணம் இடையில் உள்ளதே கதிரமங்கலம் வன துர்கை ஆலயம். இது கும்பகோணத்தில் இருந்து 14 கிலோ தொலைவிலும், மாயவரத்தில் இருந்து 7 கிலோ தொலைவிலும் உள்ளது. ஆலயம் 2500 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முற்பட்டது எனக் கூறுகிறார்கள். கதிராமங்கலம் வன துர்கை ஆலயம் நவ துர்கா ஆலயங்களில் ஒன்றாகும். இந்த ஆலயத்தில் ராகு தோஷம் விலக ராகு காலத்தில் விசேஷ பூஜைகள் செய்கின்றார்கள். மற்ற நாட்களில் மற்ற ஆலயங்களை போலவே இங்கும் தினசரி பூஜைகள் நடைபெறுகின்றன. அதனால்தான் இந்த தேவியை ராகு கால தேவி என்றும் அழைக்கின்றார்கள். இந்த ஆலயத்தின் இன்னும் இரண்டு விசேஷம் என்ன என்றால், இங்குள்ள தேவி கிழக்கு நோக்கி பார்த்தவாறு நின்று கொண்டு இருக்கின்றாள். கிழக்கு நோக்கி ஆலய தெய்வம் அமைக்கப்பட்டால் அதன் சக்தி மிக அதிகமாக இருக்குமாம். மற்ற ஆலயங்களில் காணப்படும் தேவி துர்கையின் சிலை கோபத்துடன் கூடிய முகத்துடனும் சிங்கத்தின் மீது அமர்ந்த நிலையிலோ அல்லது ஒரு அரக்கனின் மீது நின்ற நிலையிலோ காணப்படும். ஆனால் இங்குள்ள தேவியோ சாந்தமான முகத்துடன், தாமரை மீது நின்ற நிலையில் அதாவது பத்ம பீடா எனப்படும் காட்சியில் கா...

Kathiramangalam Goddess Vana Durgai temple is in between Mayavaram and Kumbakonam. S ituated 14 KM from Kumbakonam and 7 KM from Mayavaram the temple is stated to be as old as 2500 years. Kathiramangalam Goddess Vana Durgai is one of the nine temples in Nava Durga temples. The special Pooja for this temple is held during Raghu kalam on Sundays while on other days the Pooja is performed in normal time as in other temples. This is why the deity is called Raghu Kala Durgai in this temple. The temple has two unique features . First the deity faces east which is considered to be highly auspicious; secondly unlike in other temples where she is seen seated on a lion or on the body of a demon, Goddess Durga is seen here standing on lotus (Padma Peed ) and her appearance is also sober and calm.
